Description
Felicity, portrays a young woman on the cusp of adulthood. The work was born from the energies that were left over after the daughter moved into her own home.
The production of the work itself was very slow, as every detail was picked by hand. When I was sketching the work, I didn’t think about what kind of situation I would put myself in when it comes to making this work. The whole process of making the piece reminded me of becoming independent, which also need a lot of time, and drama is usually not avoided. The end result looks easy and light. Felicity is one of life’s happy moments.
Felicity belongs to the collections of the Finnish State Art Commission.
