Art + Acoustics: Chemistry

Description

We meet each other a lot virtually, but sometimes it feels like the meeting is somehow empty. We miss a physical encounter, because in physical interaction situations an important unconscious communication occurs, where we sense the other person holistically. Are we compatible or not? We notice that immediately when we meet in physical reality.

The artwork is hand-woven using sheep’s wool and GOTS-certified organic cotton. It’s completely plastic-free and made in an environmentally friendly and ethical manner. The artwork brings representativeness and coziness to the space, and the acoustic element integrated into it improves the space’s acoustics. In testing, it has received absorption class B (Turku AMK’s acoustics laboratory).
