Hello, I’m a textile artist, designer, and weaving teacher from Lahti, Finland.
Weaving has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began weaving as a child together with my grandmother, and over time it has become both my means of expression and a lifelong passion.
My Artworks
My works are inspired by stories, folk art, and the beauty of nature. Characteristic of my practice is the interplay between inner landscapes and the natural landscapes.
I create each piece by hand on a loom, using freely patterned multi-colored weaves and embroidery.
I weave art thread by thread, in a process that is almost meditative.
Teaching
I have been teaching handweaving since 2021. My goal is to pass on not only technical skills, but also the joy of making, the experience of creativity, and the calm that comes from working with one’s hands.
I strive to create a positive, encouraging, and inspiring learning environment where everyone has the space to grow at their own pace, guided with care and expertise.
Teaching is both inspiring and rewarding for me, as it allows me to share my knowledge while continually learning something new myself.
